Modpack Plans

Hey guys, this is just a quick update post regarding why I haven't released Quester's Rest yet. After my college semester ended, I started work on customization, but realized I wouldn't be able to finish the pack in a week. So I have scrapped it and moved on to a new project.

The new project will be another Minecraft modpack, but this one will be more tech-oriented. In this pack, I introduce OreSpawn as a driving factor in progression. I have done this for several reasons:

1) OreSpawn drops are, for the most part, not useful except for creating a weapon called Big Bertha, which does 500 damage on any unarmored mobs. This weapon is vital in bringing down the toughest of OreSpawn mobs, but is absolutely overpowered otherwise. I plan to change that by requiring the player to kill mobs not only to progress in tech tiers, but to also use those machines to create Big Bertha, placing the weapon much, much later in the game.

2) I found OreSpawn as a whole overpowered. Later-game mobs that can be defeated with no less than the Ultimate set drop copious amounts of diamonds, gold, and other minerals. However, I will not change these mobs' drop tables. Instead, I will bring other mods in balance with OreSpawn. For example, machines from Thermal Expansion and Ender IO may require blocks instead of ingots for creation.
In order to create a sense of progression, I will disable natural access to OreSpawn's dimensions, requiring the player to reach a specific level in a mod before creating the spawn egg needed to reach said dimension. For example, OreSpawn's Mining Dimension will require materials from the End and possibly the Erebus to access.

3) Some tech mods are easy to begin with. For example, IC2's NanoSuit needs only coal, redstone, diamonds, a Macerator, and a Compressor to create. Granted, it needs a lot of power, over 2 stacks of coal, and 16 diamonds to create, but if resources are common enough, the set can be made in only a day of gameplay. If additional resources such as titanium and uranium ingots are needed, or even Ultimate Armor itself, then that would make the NanoSuit more difficult to craft within the first 24 hours.

Note: This point is debatable. The pack is in VERY early stages of planning, and so IC2 may not make it into the pack.

With that said, I do look forward to making this pack. This is an idea I've had for a few months and I've just been waiting for OreSpawn to update to 1.7.10 so I can create it. Do keep in mind that because of OreSpawn's intense nature, a heavy-duty computer may or may not be required. At the moment, I would say 4 GB RAM and perhaps about 2.5-2.9 GHz processing power will be required as a minimum. In addition, I will try to keep the access to OreSpawn's Crystal Dimension to a minimum, as I realize that dimension can take a huge toll on any computer.

Documentation of mechanics, progression, and other important things will be placed on the blog upon release. Recipes will not be included; for that, see NEI.

As for the release date, I estimate it will be ready in the summer. I realize 1.8 mods will be released around this time or earlier, but as most mods are, and will continue to be, for 1.7.10, this will be the intended version for the pack. I am about to start a new college semester so I will be busy, but I will attempt to allocate any free time to development of the pack.

If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or mods for the pack, feel free to come forward with them. If you would like to help test or develop the pack, contact me on Twitter at @Ninjaofquest.

Thanks for reading this blog, and I hope to see you around!

UPDATE: Progress on Blog Pack 1.7.10, News

Hey, guys. I'm writing here to inform you guys of a few updates. I've been progressing through college nicely and it's getting close to midterms. October is also my birthday month, so I'm excited (slightly) about that. Those of you who have seen my baseball tweets might know about the Orioles in the Championship round. Yes, I'm super excited about that. As a young fan I never saw their success in the 80's, so it's thrilling to see them as far as they are.

More importantly, I've been working on my winter blog pack and I have more or less found a concrete mod list. Now, this is very much a work-in-progress and I have not tested a lot of the mods. The next phase is preliminary testing, removing and adding mods as needed.

Here is the mod list as I have it so far:

  1. Minecraft Forge v1208. This is a downgrade from what I had, which was 1217 and 1219. I ran into several issues with the pack, which resulted in a move from MultiMC to an ATLauncher instance.
  2. bspkrsCore, required for two mods
  3. Baubles, required for Thaumcraft and two other mods
  4. CodeChickenCore, required for NEI and EnderStorage
  5. CoFH Core, required for Thermal Expansion and MineFactory Reloaded
  6. Enchiridion. I do not know what this is for. If anyone can inform me from this mod list, please do so.
  7. Mantle, required for Tinker's Construct
  8. MetallurgyCore, required for Metallurgy 4
  9. Mobius Core, required for Waila and Jabba
  10. Thermal Foundation, required for Thermal Expansion

    UTILITIES
  11. ArmorStatusHUD
  12. Damage Indicators
  13. Dynamic Lights, required for Shadow World
  14. FastCraft. This is a recent add and I have not tested a world with it. I am hoping this will provide a remedy for my computer's weak specs.
  15. Inventory Tweaks
  16. NEI
  17. NEI Plugins Unofficial
  18. NEI Addons
  19. OpenEye
  20. Opis, which includes MapWriter
  21. StatusEffectHUD
  22. TiC Plugins
  23. Waila
  24. Waila Harvestability
  25. Wawla

    DIMENSIONS, RPG, MOBS, WORLDGEN
  26. Biomes O' Plenty
  27. AbyssalCraft
  28. Atum: Journey into the Sands
  29. Hardcore Ender Expansion. As a warning, this mod requires Java 7. If you have anything lower, the game will crash. You will have to take this out if you do not have Java 7.
  30. Lycanite's Mobs
  31. Shadow World
  32. Shadow World/Dynamic Lights Plugin
  33. Special Mobs
  34. The Mists of RioV

  36. Twilight Forest
  37. Utility Mobs
  38. Gravestone
  39. Roguelike Dungeons

  44. Forbidden Magic
  45. Thaumcraft
  46. Thaumic Tinkerer
  47. Warp Book
  48. Witchery

  81. Gany's End
  82. Gany's Surface

  •  Battle Towers was left out because it was crashing on my system. I can try to ship the pack to my other computer and see if the crashes are resolved.
  • Xeno's Reliquary will be included pending an update. It is currently in alpha/beta and is very unstable.
  • Chocolate Quest will be included if it reaches a stable condition.
  • Doomlike Dungeons will not be in this pack due to Roguelike Dungeons having more polish and similar features.
  • TooMuchLoot will be included, but I do not currently have the time to edit it.
  • DungeonPack will not be in the pack. Ruins will take its place, being much more configurable.
  • The Forestry set will not be included because it will significantly extend the time it takes for completion. I intend for this pack to be a quick, but exciting, pack I can play in 6 weeks.
This is an exploration pack with a small variety of other mods to keep it exciting. I look forward to seeing what this pack offers.

Over the next 4 weeks I will be taking one extra class, which means I will not have as much time to test. Any free time I have will most likely go to watching videos or researching for projects. However, I will try my best to test and tweak the pack. I will update on my Twitter for minor news and post here or on FTB for major news.

One more thing: this pack will not be public at the moment. I may consider it after the pack is playable, but no promises. All motions for permission will be made AFTER the pack is playable.

Well, that's all for now. Take care, everyone!

IMPORTANT NEWS: The Future of this Blog

Hey, blog fans. I realize I have not updated this blog in the past two months. I have very important news I must share with you guys in order to help you guys understand my current position.

First things first, my series "Tech World Adventures" will be discontinued. I have three main reasons for this, listed below:

  1. Around the time I posted Chapter 3 of Tech World Adventures back in July, I recently rediscovered RuneScape. For those who don't know, RuneScape is a popular MMO featuring tons of content such as a diverse bestiary, almost 200 quests, 26 skills to train, and more. I had been focusing on my accomplishments within the game, and as such neglected to update the blog.
  2. The second reason I abandoned the blog for two months is because I simply lost interest in Tech World. To be honest, I was discouraged at the slow pace of the modpack with the included addition of Hunger Overhaul. After attempting to remove it, I found I could not remove it without having to start a whole new world. I decided to just quit uploading the blog, despite you guys wanting it to continue.
  3. My third and perhaps most important reason is my journey into college. I am taking a full course load in college and I do not have much free time. I will not be able to upload anything else to this blog until this semester is over.
Now for the good news. During my small amount of free time. I have been considering different mods for a 1.7.10 modpack. I am glad to say I am finished with the consideration process. I am now determining which of those mods I would like to put in the pack. So far, I have limited it down to 87 mods, but I hope to get into a range of 60-70 content mods. This new pack will be a unique pack featuring a multitude of popular RPG mods, while still having a variety of different mods including tech mods. In essence, I would liken it to a "Horizons 1.7.10," but its path will take it far from that.

Several mods I have considered for this pack are:
  • Mekanism as the main tech mod
  • Forestry and extras as a second tech mod. I include this because of Binnie's recent update to his mod.
  • I may add Thermal Expansion 4 if its addon ducts mod comes out before I start the pack.
  • Tinkers' Construct
  • Thaumcraft
  • Botania
  • If Ars Magica 2 updates to 1.7.10 before I start the blog pack, I will add it. I will not add it after I have started the pack.
  • WildyCraft, a similar mod to ScapeCraft. I like this one over ScapeCraft because all spawns are in a different world and it includes a larger variety of features.
  • Lycanite's Mobs and Special Mobs for main mob mods.
  • Twilight Forest
  • The Mists of RioV
  • HarvestCraft will certainly return in this pack, but without Hunger Overhaul in order to ensure a speedy progression.
  • Roguelike and Doomlike Dungeons for the main structure mods.
  • Better Dungeons 2 (or Chocolate Quest) will only be added if it is stable enough by the time I start the pack.
Eternal Isles will not be included in this modpack because I aim to create an easier pack that does not take a long time to complete.

I expect this pack to be fully complete and stable enough to play by mid-December, after the end of the current college semester. I will play this pack until mid-January when the next college semester starts. I still need to do a lot of work on this pack, but it is almost out of its planning stage. Things that need to be done afterwards are:
  • Compatibility. This is a major step, especially with large mods like WildyCraft.
  • Configuration. This is another major step because I plan to add the TooMuchLoot mod, which I can use to configure all sorts of loot tables.
  • Testing
  • More testing
  • Even more testing
  • I may review recipes and tweak them with MineTweaker.
I intend to update the blog much more frequently than previously once this pack is complete. Feel free to yell at me if I don't comply with my promise. =P

I will keep this blog updated throughout this college semester with news on the next pack. If anything major happens, I will post it here. I'll also keep you guys updated on Twitter at @Ninjaofquest, so feel free to follow me.

Finally, I would like to thank Feed The Beast for creating a pack like Horizons. It is by far one of my favorites because of its variety of content. I would also like to thank PopularMMOs for reviewing many of the mods that I would like to put in the pack.

Cheers,
Ninja

Tech World Adventures - Chapter 4

Hey, guys. Between this post and the last one, I ran an interest poll on the Feed the Beast forums. As a result, in addition to this blog, I will create a survival-based modpack as a side project. There won't be any release date as to when I begin an adventure in this new pack. In addition, the upcoming pack is most likely to stay private unless you guys want it released.

Anyway, welcome to this week's edition of Cave- I mean, Tech World Adventures.

So last time, I went mining for surface minerals in the two ravines. While mining, I found a cave that I can explore. In preparation for this expedition, I smelted half of the iron from the mining trip to make a set of iron armor.

So now I find myself staring at the gaping maw about to devour me into the earth. With caution, I venture down into the opening and find a dungeon! What luck! I arm myself and enter the dungeon for my first serious fight. I bash a few zombies, torch the spawner and steal the loot. I took some RotaryCraft items and some other things, but most of them probably won't be that useful. The floppy disc in particular won't be of much use to me as I don't use ComputerCraft.

With that out of the way, I bash a few more zombies and journey deeper into the bowels of the earth. I come to a fork in the cave, but both ways lead the same way.

The ambience echoes around me as I attempt to venture deeper. I at last reach all dead ends of this cave. This cave system is only a surface-level one. Well, except for the hole in the corner of one curve. Should I go in it? Yeah, let's go!

In retrospect, that may have been a bad idea.

My first omen happens to be the appearance of endermen. Two of them. But for the most part, they seem to be all right with sharing their cave.

They seem to want to give me dirt blocks. Though one sort of pushed me out of the way in order to get to his buddy. I guess living in a cave doesn't do one well in learning manners.

The next thing that happened is the discovery that this cave is much larger than the one upstairs. It's gonna take forever to mine this out! I came down here to mine stuff, not to wander aimlessly!

(Stop whining, please.)

As I continue deeper, I notice ores that I haven't seen before such as Yellorite and Lead. Yellorite in particular will be useful as I plan to learn Big Reactors before the season's end.

Eventually, I run out of apple juice and begin to starve. I need to get back to the surface. So I look around and I can't find my exit. Oh crap! I search frantically for it and I still can't find it! I start to get hit with slowness from starving. On top of that, I angered an enderman somewhere and I can't find him. Zombies are peeking their heads out, so I continue to slay them.

I consider multiple options such as digging to the top and continuing to find the exit. I continue to search for my exit path.

Also, I do notice I had food in the picture. I believe that was the last picture before I started searching for a way out.

Suddenly I get the "genius" idea of eating rotten flesh to restore my hunger. I must have forgotten that hunger debuffs reduce my hunger a lot faster than normal. This ultimately leads to my demise when I starve to death fighting off a zombie.

Deaths: 1

I appear in my house. I run to the ravine and the cave in an attempt to search for my items. I punch zombies out of my way and avoid the icy stares of endermen. Eventually I get cornered by a zombie and a spider. I pummel the spider with my fists, but the one-two punch eventually takes its toll.

Deaths: 2

After that, my memory became a blur. I don't remember how exactly I got back, but when I did, I found a convenient gravestone from OpenBlocks waiting for me instead of a mess of items. For those of you who don't know, the gravestone keeps my items until I break it.

I also found out that the reason I couldn't find my way out was because I hadn't put a torch near my exit path. How silly of me.

I continue to starve. I can't look up the use of an item because the game freezes whenever I do. If anyone has any useful food items to recommend, then feel free to tell me. Otherwise I'm going to have to settle for a crafting guide for HarvestCraft.

I still need supplies and food. I remain in the need for a beginner machine. My garden is fully grown but I don't know what to do with it. Any advice?

Thanks for reading.

Tech World Adventures - Chapter 3

This post has been brought to you by Minecraft Crash Enterprises. Your #1 source for bugs and errors since 2009.

I do notice this picture's overlap with the blog's right-hand sidebar. I enlarged this one more so you guys could read it.

Anyway, before we get to why this happened, let me regale you of the events leading up to this.

First, I harvested some beets because I was hungry. I tried to look up the use of this item because I wanted to know what I could use it for. Then Not Enough Items got overloaded and the game froze.

Remember that I'm on a 5-year-old Macintosh.

I tried it again, but this time right-clicking the item in NEI. Again, froze.

I figured that it was just a bug with beets. So I ignored it and moved on. I started to chop down trees in order to get wood for my house. I picked up an apple off the ground (lots of apples, by the way) and tried to find its use in crafting. And again, the game froze.

I now assume that it's NEI's fault. If you guys have anything to say about this issue, then feel free to say it.

So after amassing about one-and-a-half stacks of wood logs, I get working. I make the foundation 11x11 (9x9 on the inside), the height 4 blocks, and I push the roof up one. I chiseled my wood planks into a fancier kind. I didn't put in a floor yet.

The result was a large wood shack. Obviously nothing pretty. Just a living space.

I managed to move my bed in there before nighttime. I haven't moved anything else in there yet.

While building, I stacked a few blocks by mistake. So naturally, I whip out my axe and break them. Or, rather, struggle to break them and not get the block back. I wonder why this is, so I take out the mod's chisel and left-click it in an attempt to break it.

The game didn't seem to like that. So it crashed, which explains the crash report.

I later found out that all chiseled blocks made by Chisel are only harvestable with a pickaxe.

So now with that out of the way, I plant all my leftover saplings all over the biome. I desperately need some materials and I've already mined the cave dry. So how about I go into the ravines nearby?

I dig my way into the first ravine and grab all the materials. I get iron, coal, and copper, among others. My pickaxe broke along the way, so I also brought my tool station in order to fix it.

Honestly, that ravine was kind of boring. So let's go into the neighboring one! Yay! Oh wait, it's nighttime. I don't care, I need materials. I break a block of a nearby pond and make a waterfall. Oh, and I see lava. Careful now.

I start off by mining the iron, coal, and apatite I see. I pour a bucket of water on that pesky lava pool. Too bad it's not still lava or I would've had a good starting bank of obsidian. I eye a cluster of oreberry bushes deeper into the ravine.

Oh, I also made apple juice.

I navigate the ravine carefully, listening to the baddies out to get me. Fortunately, they're all above me and I'm down below.

I'm enjoying this mining thing. When you get into a groove, the pickaxe seems to make a song out of it. "Bing bing bing bing BAM! Bing bing bing bing BAM!"

See?

"Bing bing bing bing BAM! Bing bing bi- CRACK!" It broke again. Let me repair it.

As I'm having fun with pickaxes I start to hear a sort of anguished grunt. I see Mr. Enderman with his prized grass block up near a tree at the top of the ravine.

I hear he wanted to be a miner when he grew up. But his fists are weaker than wood and he can't break anything other than dirt. He hates being stared at because he's still bitter over Mojang nerfing his powers (for the better) when he was born.

While I'm mining out some apatite I hear this guy:

Look at that little bugger just standing there plotting to take over the world. If they weren't so hostile and annoying they would almost be cute.

Could you imagine one of those on a plane? Because I sure can't.

So after I get rid of him, I start to make my way back to the surface. It's daytime now, so aside from a creeper almost falling on my head, I have no trouble getting out. I make my way back home. Here's my yield from the ravines:

The other stuff under the coal tag is copper, tin, iron, rainbow flourite, and some other mineral I forget.

So I have successfully made my own house (shack). I still need more minerals, especially certus quartz and everything below tin level. I did find a cave in that second ravine, so we should go explore it. Not today, though.

On the plus side, I'm not hungry this time!

Tech World Adventures - Chapter 2

Chapter 2

When we last left off, I was starving, almost to death. Today we're going to try to solve that.

First, what I should do is make a juicer to get more yield from all these apple trees around here. It's made simply with a piece of stone and a stone pressure plate.

I wonder why these HarvestCraft tools have no durability bar. I mean, in the real world an apple cutter isn't going to last you seventy-five years. It's eventually going to rust, the metal is going to warp, and maybe a freak dishwashing accident will cause the plastic handles to melt.

But whatever, I'm not complaining. In the meantime, I'll just murder these chickens for their meat. I try to leave two around so I can breed them later, but I keep finding more everywhere I go!

I have the game set up to disable wooden and stone hoes. This means that I need iron to start a farm. I have three pieces of iron, but I'm saving them for a pickaxe. Though I later find out that I want to take a different path, so...hmm......

Whatever the case may be, I go down into the other cave, which turns out to be just a shallow valley. So much for exploring. I pick up some resources and then move on to the next cave. Well, actually, I run for my bed because it's getting to be night time.

Okay, now I head for the cave. I am curious about something, though. Since Minecraft's day and night are ten minutes each, wouldn't that mean I'm theoretically near the world's equator? Another point: the day and night continue to last ten minutes each even when you move ten thousand meters away from where you first spawn. So, wouldn't that mean....whatever, it's just a game. Since when have game mechanics ever made sense in the real world?

So I'm just taking my pick of the ores when suddenly I hear the ol' rattle of bones coming down to meet me. I managed to snap a picture of the bugger before he shot me in the stomach:

Oh, and I'm STILL hungry. I guess this sack of bones feels the same way. No wonder he's trying to kill me.

I didn't run into any more trouble, although my pickaxe broke when I mined out the last of my yield. Here's what I mined out:

It's all right there in the right-hand corner of the inventory and the furnace. If you can't see it, here's the list:

  • 14 iron ore
  • 54 apatite
  • 17 salt
  • 21 copper ore
  • 1 tin ore
  • 27 coal
  • 5 aluminum ore
Apatite is good for fertilizer, which is what I'll need if I ever want to get that farm up.

After I make myself another set of tools and a hoe, I nap in my totally-well-protected bed. Like, seriously, if the monsters spawn during night time, wouldn't they just be able to push me out of the bed and kill me right there? What kind of crazy wizardry protects a sleeping person out in the open from being transformed into a legion of the zombie army? Because I'm pretty sure that's what would kill you in a zombie apocalypse.

Disclaimer: I have never watched any movies about the zombie apocalypse.

All right, so now that I've slept a less-than-ideal sleep out in the wilderness, I start to work on my farm. I usually make my farm cells in a 5-by-5 square, but since I have tons of seeds, I decide to make a much larger 9-by-9 cell.

After clearing out the land for the farm, I start to plant all these seeds that I got from cutting grass. I would've had more, but they were accidentally disabled, so I went and enabled them in the game files.

All right, so now that that's taken care of, I gaze over my farm. It's going to provide me with a lot of much-needed sustenance. It's getting dark, let me show you real quick:

I did add an offshoot for some cotton that I came across.

Oh geez, it's really getting to be night-time now. I guess it's time to go to bed. I made some tool tables so I won't have to continuously make new tools over and over again. The tools I have now will just break when they're used up. I just fix them up with more cobblestone.

I'm still way out in the open. I'm probably long-overdue for a house. Looks like I need to work on that.

Tech World Adventures - Chapter 1

Chapter 1

So...I spawned in a plains biome. I think. Let me check.

Well, sort of. I spawned in a plains biome, but in front of me is a pool of liquid ender pearls from the Ender Forest mod.

Oh, I forgot to say, "welcome!" I'm Ninjaofquest and this is my first blog. I've written a few things before, but most of them were for contests or the school newspaper. This is my first piece on the Internet. I do like to write, however. I would like to pursue a writing career in the future.

I also like playing video games. I've brought these two interests together to bring you something that I hope will be sort of successful.

I'll post in the way that you're reading now. Sort of freeform, sometimes random, hopefully not too obtrusively. Now, while I will insert pictures, I'm not going to post any crafting recipes or similar things, as that would inflate the size of each post with unnecessary information. Useful information, but nonetheless unnecessary.

With that said, I'll start walking. East, maybe? Perhaps. I usually travel east in order to set up a home, whether on a server or on a single player world.

While I'm walking, perhaps I'll tell you of my goals for this series. While playing, I hope to expand my knowledge on mod integration and learn a few new tricks. I want to try new mods and features, such as bees and RotaryCraft. I also wanted to challenge myself slightly by making hunger more of an issue, hence the reason for Hunger Overhaul. I didn't add any extra mobs into the game because while they make the game more challenging, one can easily sleep through the night and escape them through daytime. I will take mod requests, but since I am playing on a 5-year-old Mac laptop, there's not really that much I can add. As a rule, there will be no magic mods except Mystcraft. Mystcraft was included in the original pack and I'm not going to remove it.

I still have no idea why Project Red wasn't included in Tech World 2. I'm sure Jadedcat has a reason for it. Who knows?

Author's note: While writing the prologue I didn't realize that Project Red wasn't included in the pack. However, since Feed the Beast includes all the configs to all their packs, I disabled the dyed trees from that mod anyway.

Ah, it seems that the sun is setting. Why don't I make a bed and sleep the night?

I forgot to mention that I killed some sheep whilst walking.

Ah, good morning! I seem to be a bit hungry and these chickens look VERY appetizing. The grapes look pretty good, too! Also, I'm in some sort of Apple Orchard biome. So I guess it's a pretty great place to get both wood and food.

I've made a few wooden tools, but this chicken won't taste very good uncooked. Let's go find some stone. I do like to bore into a cave for my first night, so that's where I usually get stone. Failing that, however, I just sort of sleep on the ground. Well, not quite on the ground, but in a bed...in the middle of nowhere. Honestly, who makes a perfectly good bed and sticks it outside under a tree in order to sleep in it? Isn't that what tents are for? I'd imagine that unless you were camping or homeless, you would want to be in a cozy sort of home so you wouldn't want to drown in the annoyingly persistent humidity and suffer in the late-night summer heat and get tons and tons of bug bites...

Okay, okay, that's enough for my rant. Let's go look for some stone. I know of a few caves nearby. Why not explore them?

So I walk a bit north to find these caves, chopping down some trees on the way. But wait, I need to make a pickaxe! After searching for five whole minutes for my bed again (hey, it's not my fault, the grass was too long!), I make a pickaxe and sleep the night again.

All right, I have my pickaxe, so let's go mine some stuff! I'm going to go pick up some stone for a furnace.

Ooh, hey, iron! I'll get that soon.

Anyway, let's go down into this cave. I'll pick up some stone as I go down. I see some coal, I think I'll pick that up too!

Oh, sorry about that. I went and made a stone pickaxe. Anyway, I listen to the hostiles echo around me as I mine this coal. Suddenly I feel something breathing down my neck. I turn around and slice off its head! Meh, it was just a zombie. Just an expendable pawn of Minecraftia's chess set. So let me j- OW! Arrow right in my frickin' hip! Now there's skeletons coming out of the other caves. Oh, and here's a few more zombies.

Okay, sorry about that. Had a little monster brawl on my hands. I made a barricade so I can breathe. I can hear a zombie breathing through my peephole, let me take care of him. So, I forgot what I was going to say beforehand. But I can add that if the zombies are the pawns, then skeletons can be the rooks. Creepers are bishops, spiders are knights, endermen are the kings... Oh, hey! Someone could make a real-life chess set out of Minecraft! One probably exists, though.

So I make my way out of the cave and I chop down a few trees. I notice a large brown-leaf tree nearby, and I take note of it because that will give me cocoa beans. I get back to my bed and sleep the night again, then wake up to decide what to do next.

I think I have actually found my permanent home.

Oh, by the way, I'm also hungry. I'll have to remedy that problem soon.
